The presence of the living God

While facilitating Grief and loss class. A well hoped for peaceful session of 25 patients for sharing their feelings. During their grief process, mix of emotions with pain, resentment,relive experience of the tragic loss, guilt, and sobbing... A woman shared her story on how her 14 years old son died, soon after her father died. Could not find an answer why her love one just past away, one after another. Another young male patient shared about his encounters while in service, and how he had watched his pals got killed during combat. Then another patient was open his wound in sharing a tragedies of seeing his mom suicide in front of his presence.Gradually, one after another open up their tragic loss, so far it was a entrance to healing and a controlled environment grief. Until, the next young homosexual patient came up to speak, he held tight to his anger , because of memories paralyzing him from moving forward. He mentioned how his boyfriend had died, and how he was raped at the age of 11 years old by his father. Soon after, his rage blow out of proportion, within a few minutes, seemed to cause a plague of depression throughout the en tile classroom. As I glanced over at other patients and closely analyzed their facial expression, transfer from sad to deep emotional distorted. As I comforted them by explaining grief goes through many stages of emotion,they might have to experience , before they can come to acceptance, takes time to heal and it will get better within times .

After we practice breathing, and I essentially pray to God for their safety comfort, and merge to God 's healing by faith.I ask God for their strength on not to lose heart over what they are suffering . In God 's glory "what according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his spirit in your inner being. So that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith-that you , being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breath and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpassed knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God". Ephesians 3:16.

Not long after this prayer, miraculously, the whole room is fill with serenity and I felt love in the classroom placed in God's embrace. The final moment, the intense spirit was replace in calm and beloved in His grace.

What shall we do?

Recently I serve as a Drug and Alcohol addiction Counselor, I found so much joy and gratification when seeing addicts have turn around their disrupted behavior and change to become a productive people to society. Best of all they connected back to God, look to God 's way for their joy, faith , hope and love. I was so thrill and counting my blessing for His calling that has placed on me.
After recovery Addicted leave the treatment center, then I will do follow up in nurturing them, guild them to stay focus on the right path in staying sober. Unfortunately the story of recovery addicted going thought mood swing, from being depress to anxiety during Alcohol/other drug withdraw, it should be a natural and expected. Gradually leading to needy, compulsive and obsessive behavior. As these emotion begin to weight heavily on me , over an extended period of time. Due to all their frustration, anger and tension build up, causing addicts to cry out for their healing shelter like home. Instead they come straight at me as their confidant, and rescue. Oh! my thoughts of fear, anxiety and devastation are race out of control. No! I do need my boundary to stop being their enabler. As I feel hurt, sorrow and despair. I was detached , and disappointed at the situation and myself.

During Sunday service, Pastor Leaf share a quote: Repentance is the beginning of enter God's Kingdom.
"turn to me and be saved, all your ends of the earth, for I am God, and their is no other" Isaiah 45:22. Threshold the pain in repentance. Oh my gosh....! I pray and pray, but totally forgot that I need to humbly bow down and repent of my Sin. How often do we forget to repent for our daily Sin ,before asking Him for blessing/guidance?
The important point is to empty out my laundry list to Him. the longer I confess my arrogant, the more I discover that " I " can not do it all to change others. After all, it is God's mission, and I am just a messenger, a worker on the field. The harvest is the end product for the Lord.
Gradually, after repentance, I realize that it is not my power, not my action, not my wisdom, not my expert, not my love nor my compassion that can change their addicts to sanitise. it is no longer " my " . It is all His glory!
"Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death" ll Corinthian 7:10.
Then what shall we do?
"Humble yourselves, therefore under God's mighty hand, that He may lift you up in due time"IPerer 5:6. Christ is our Redeemer. His love to us never fails! When we place our faith in God, all things are possible.

Abundance of grace

how majestic is your name, in all the love, provision, and blessing.

i know for a fact, i do not deserved these abundance of love, joy, and glory.

let us join together, in saying yes! yes! yes! to our God, as we learn God's word transform his message into action, practice, and heal the hurting, needy, and broken world in offering our compassion , to bring the lost come to Jesus and rest in him.

The edge of breakthrough

Life is filled with difficult questions , events, question and test with temptation. Usually is in our weakest link. When we conform to society and let our angry, hurt, and fear from the past turn into our survival magnesium, we lost part of our true ultimate selves. We dwell into our busy or bruised matters, then we wants to take life in our own hands, we try to fix our life, we try to reach our hearts desired.The strong feeling that erupts , burning disturbed dissenting mind under every hottest passion needs...For there 's a rebel in every heart , soul, and fleshing , the irresistible quest for love and to be loved by people. In reasoning to focus on our needs, and our sensuality desired.

What happen when God is intercept on our plan?
Don't let the edge of breakthrough distress us. Instead, that is the time God is sharpening us to growth deeper in Him. So what is your advice to others about how to cope with challenge, and pushing our limit?
The part that keeps our hearts pounding, we do not act on impulse, not on our compulsion. Instead , we should stay in tune with our God, to cope with adversity in God's promised. At the end of the day,we have to pray, in communicate with our God. He is in control, we should turn it back to Him. Because we have to finish our day in content with the choices we 've made, and will make, in our day. Let God's glory fall. Yes,The part that defines who we truely are.We are not shaken, we are not moved, we wait upon you Lord. Your mighty deliverer, triumph and truth, will grant me joy in peace and contentment. We must not forget that we're more that our physical being's need and desires. More than our emotion needs. More than our intelletual feeded. More than our big status. more that our power, privilige, and comfort. For there's a fundemental hunger and thirst in every one of us. A diligent mind under. After all, God is the ultimate cause to our spiritual human being in our life.
Through all the blessing God had given me day by day. I am accepting how God will
continue bless for me through my daily walk. it is time to start by how I can bless to others with His blessing as well.
God knows what my needs are, and god gives what we need, not what we deserved. Therefore, I surrender to Him , by live in simple term,---just to TRUST Him, live freely in Christ.
Life is temporary on this world.
Life requires accountebility.
life is a gift.
Thank you Lord, you send Jesus to us , because you love us.
He comes so that we can be saved. Our savior is not paying us back, but bring us back to you Lord. Jesus comes to us certain as our word endures. Chains be broken, lives be healed, eyes be opened, Christ is revealed.
I am walking repentant before the lord!

Moral inventory

We continually need spiritual housecleaning, because we are living in a world that is dirty. Just as our houses and cars and clothes need to be maintained on a regular basis, so our hearts - our spiritual homes - also have to be cleaned and maintained on a regular basis.

Let go and let God intercept into our personal desire!
Although I did not like hearing God's words of wisdom at time, I acknowledged them as truth. Every day - not once a week, not once a month, certainly not once every ten years, or once in a lifetime, but all the time, throughout the day - we need to let God have His way with us, to clean us up and renew us.


Lord, live in my heart. You have granted my entire life, I am nothing without you. My heart is Yours. So clean my heart , and my soul. For today and every day , and that You can live and shine more clearly through me. Amen.

I will surrender all

Surrender is not something that is easy or common for us to do. It is hard to walk by faith (II Corinthians 5:7), it is difficult not to be in control (I hate being a passenger), and it is sometime grueling to let go of something or someone. Although the word surrender is not found in the New Testament, the idea of it is communicated over and over again in words such as humble, commit, confess, follow, and trust. There are many things we are to surrender to God:

Our Burdens (Matthew 11:28)
Our Cares (I Peter 5:7)
Our Shortcomings/Sins (I John 1:9)
Our Desires (Psalm 37:4)
Our Needs (Matthew 7:7)
Our Lives (Galatians 2:20)
Our Futures (Hebrews 10:23)

As we continually/daily surrender those things near and dear to us to the Lord we will discover a greater peace, joy, hope, and results because they have been placed in the hands of the One who has all authority. In this season where I have come face to face with surrender, I am reminded of what Jesus said to His disciples when he sent them out two by two in Luke 9:3, "Take nothing for the journey...". That is some serious surrender and trust. Yet, the disciples were cared for by Jesus, given the tools to succeed, and they returned reporting and rejoicing in the wonderful things that took place. As we surrender to God we can have a confidence that all is well, that we are in the best hands possible, and that there will be greater results in those areas of our lives!

How God gets my attention?

Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God believe also in me.
I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.John 14.

This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this.John 15.

You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide.

When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth.
he will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you.

For Christ is revealed the work of the Holy spirit.

Have a Hug

Hugs are not only nice, they're needed.
Hugs can help relieve pain and depression, make the healthy healthier
and the most secure among us even more so.
Hugging feels good...overcomes fears...
eases tension...provides stretching exercises it you are short...
provides stooping exercises if you are tall...
Hugging also does not upset the environment...
saves heat...is portable...
requires no special equipment...
makes happy days happier...
makes impossible days possible!!!
So, can I have a hug ?

Time Out

"And when He (Jesus) had sent the multitudes away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray."-Matthew 14:23

You awake in the morning and life hits you before your feet touch the ground. Your mind is already hard at work solving the problems of your world. There are children or grandchildren to care for, or the needs of a spouse to meet, or a job to prepare for, or a home that needs maintenance, or a neighbor that needs scolding for cutting down your favorite tree, or a car that needs fixing, or a pile of mail or emails that need tending. There are friends to call or charities to help, exams to prepare for, or employment to search for. All of these thoughts load up within your mind even before your lips have touched their first sip of coffee.

The world keeps spinning, and most days it feels like you are running as fast as you can on a monstrous-sized treadmill just trying to keep up. From morning 'til night, we are busy all day long. Yet in Matthew 14:23, we find a gem to live by. It's one of those verses in the Bible that does not speak of miraculous healings, or waters parting, but of an even more profound truth that we ALL need to live by: "...when Jesus had sent the multitudes away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray."

Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God - if anyone in history ever had a direct hotline to God, it was Jesus. He could have stood in the middle of the crowds and busied himself from morning 'til night tending to the tremendous needs of the world around Him, and yet He slipped away in solitude to pray; to spend time with His Heavenly Father in prayer. If Jesus, the King of kings and Lord of lords, found it necessary to spend time alone in prayer with God, what more motivation do you need?

Get off the worldwide treadmill for a little while each day to go off alone and get on your knees before God. I promise you, the world will get along just fine without you for twenty or thirty minutes each day. Go spend some time with your Heavenly Father!

Prayer:
Almighty God, thank You for reminding me that there is no more important time in my day than the time I spend with You! In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.

The purest

The art of living is to be the light of the world.
To make a different to others.
No need to have wise word, but the purest compassion from the heart to
interpret God's message through kindness, gentleness, and love.
To bring people out of darkness in to the light.
Because Jesus is the truth , the light, and the life.
No need to reservation our God's love , the simple surrender to His
tender embrace in to purest connect the dot, to restore our relationship
with our higher power, our Lord.

Being spiritualy grounded.

People are often unreasonable , illogical, and self-centered.---forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish ulterior motives.---be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies.
---succeed anyway.

If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you,--- be honest and frank anyway.

What you spend years building ,someone could destroy overnight.---Build it anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous,---so be happy anyway.

The good you do today , people will often forget tomorrow, ---do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough,---give the world the
Best you have anyway.

You see in the final analysis, it is between you and God.

It was never between you and them anyway.

Last night I had a dream and it left a tale to tell.
I dream I saw an angel and the poor thing wasn't well.
Its body was bruised and tattered and its wings were ripped and torn. The angel could barely walk and he looked so tired and worn.
I walked up to him and asked him, "angel, how can this be?"
he turned around and paused a bit then said these words to me.

"I am your guardian angel and the great task as you can see.
You have run muck all your life, just look what you've done to me. These
bruises are from shielding you in times most tried and ill. And all the dangerous drugs you used, i often paid the bill.
My wings are ripped ant torn, a noble badge to wear,
for often times they 've flown you when you were completely unaware.
Each mark has its own story of the deadly wounds destroyed.
I 'm here to divert the evil so your life will not be toyed.
Please try to remember I'm getting old and frail.
My wings are torn and my color is growing pale".

I could not believe all that I heard.
I put my head on His shoulder and I gave Him my word.
The next morning I pondered, why should I try,
and in the distance I heard that frail angel cry...

Despite the two unfinished messy wars, the economic melt down, the jobless keep on raising, and the gulf oil spill. all these man made disaster. We are follow the tradition in celebrating our independent day.
As always we celebrate July,4Th with outdoor barbecue, family, friends gathering, parties, drinking, eating, and be merry. Following with the spectacular fire work in the sky.What a family, community ,harmony and prosperity way of style. It is about living in a free country, liberty, dignity, and a well lived life.One nation under God.
I love this country the most: first is the land of opportunity, second is the humans right, most of all is that good and beauty comes in all colors. there goes everybody, every culture, every ethnicities in irreconcilable differences to emerging value one an others.

父親.

在偶然的机會裡, 讀到爸爸四年前的一篇文章, 「無玷此生作報人」。這篇有血有 肉的記載,深令我感觸。 原來爸爸以前任職採訪記者, 不但只是準確地報導新聞時事, 而且還處處透露了自 己在場親身體驗的感受。 回想六、七十年代, 越南政府壓迫華人入藉, 將中華青年編派入軍隊然後推出戰場 送死。
爸爸當時身為華人記者, 在一個沒有言論自由的國家裡, 竟然奮不顧身, 連續寫出了一篇篇反對排華政策的文章, 同時又向當政的吳廷琰總統面諫, 為華人表達心聲。他大膽的短評論篇 , 引起了廣大華人的共嗚 , 導致當時的排華改策不得不和緩下來. 當然, 他也因此付出代價, 從此黑牢酷刑當家常便飯。 回憶幼年時期的我, 極渴望有一位平凡的父親, 給予我溫暖和保護. 然而爸爸卻是屬於大眾人民的。他忠於自已的理想, 為同胞奔命不遺餘力, 和家人卻是聚少離多。 這五十年來, 我一直誤解他, 我用世俗一般有色的眼光來「觀察」他, 而沒有真真正正的去了解他的內心深處。我不能夠体會他那偉大的情操, 更不能夠接受他那仗義捨己的精神 , 而和他一同見証那段歷史.
然而, 感謝上帝, 再給我一個机會, 用祂的話語 (聖經) 感動我要孝敬父母. 可是, 我一向對爸爸不甚諒解, 又怎能誠實無偽的孝順他呢? 於是上帝倘開我的心靈, 幫助我以一個嶄新的眼光來欣賞他, 籍著爸爸一篇文章, 讓我看見他偉大的一面以及他擇善固執的性格. 他一生遵守祖父的訓誨, 有一點熱發一點光, 正如主耶穌教導我們, 要作世上的光, 照亮世界.
逝者已矣，來者可追. 既然再得到一次机會, 我要和爸爸一起重拾那段失落的歲月. 從現在開始, 我會用心的向他學習, 以感恩的心情來享受和他之間的嶄新的美好關係

Father

My father 's purpose life driven in compassion, selflessly in walking his humanitarian devotion to others. his life mission is in journalism. Due to his commitment to the community's needs and welfare, my list of injuries in growing up hardly having my father around, could go on and on. The healing for me is not to be found in the quicksand of blame. The attitude of blame could only lock me forever into the role of prisoner, and a victim. The focus was all about me! As I grew older these day, I began to aware of my father's legacy---He had paid a great price for his suffering, including physical, and mentally as well, and still enduring till this day. Gradually, I found the answer lies in the hidden pearl, the treasure of blessing through acceptance of the wound comes healing and forgiveness. I deeply felt compassion for his journalist life of sacrifice and suffering. In breaking this bitten cycle , it is possible to achieve a fruitful, caring relationship between my father and me. Aligned with God's loving heart, love is forgiving. Love....doesn't keep a record of wrongs that others do. I pray that in this day forward, with my genuine love and honesty , may new spirit will heal , and comfort his wounded heart also.

We are the world, we are the children. By being together , doing for others ,in serving, loving , caring, and giving. Yes, and yes, we can change the world, in time like these. It might even be your calling at this new stage in your life as it has impacted in mine.

Not too long ago,as I reached my fifty birthday, the mid-life crisis begin. I was searching , and pondering mostly with my retirement years to come. There were concern like: How much saving pension, and annuity for my golden year? Where should I plan to live then? How should I pass my time in to? What might be the most satisfying way to spend all of that time? Which place to travel ? Whom should I pay a visit to? Lean a new skill, or new language may be? These are my bucket list challenge.
Those are certainly valid concern and planning. But when I look back in the last fifty years, I was so blessed with abundantly of great joy, good and decent life. and so much more to come! My family, my love one, and me are in good heath standing.
I concluded that leaving a legacy--not necessarily the financial kind; the possession type; but doing something memorable to lift other, in making a different. A time for my new life to find a new purpose that will give my life meaning , and just might become my most joyous and nourishing time on earth. In the mean time, I still can pursuit my fun, and happiness before my last sunset. Than this " leaving a Legacy" is much more bigger than life itself.

Only we would become an attention-deficient, distracted, and anxiously stressful.
Which means that unplug our great information technology ,cyber, virtual, web communication for a while; reach out to keep in touch with our near and dear whom actually near,living,walking, and breathing among us. Be with them when we can in our quality time, give out full attention and love with action. Be grateful always,our internal sense of contentment that replaces our hurry,instant gratification life,that disconnected we 've become.

Hey, surprise! I am back. After a long break ,away from writing the Blog, I do miss it very much.
As we are living in, experiencing , and moving on in our daily walk. God is doing many amazing things in our midst, in His promised, it is written...
Follow the Easter, Jesus is risen, from crucifixion. Later, He the son of God, through His death and resurrection, Jesus faced and conquered His greatest enemy. His victory over death far exceed the beliefs of even His most faithful followers disciples.He is the true living God! Jesus, you are the author and finisher of our faith.
God's love is so great, once again the lord give us salvation through Jesus, who broke down religious, cultural, social, and economic barriers. Jesus who constantly laid down His life as the son of God to reach out to sinful man like me. Jesus challenged the status quot by being friendly , outcasts and associating with people of poor reputations.
Jesus confounded traditional messianic expectations of a king . His ministry and life live out the kingship and humanity who would deliver salvation to all who believed. Unknown to them, the king was not simply to be king for the day, for the cods of death could not hold him. By his resurrection , he revealed that he is the King forever!
To the same degree, we continue to witness His miracle, and walk in His grace, with faith, grow in His words, His kingdom will be advanced, and our lives will be transformed day by day.

Turning point

The direction of my path is my pride, an ego-centric self to leaving God out of the equation.I spend half of my life, or more striking in concerning the importance of having accomplishment, a self gratification to the importance of achieving my ambition. Chasing the wealth, power, privilege, status identity.
the ego is a tough taskmaster. Yet during our life, ego manages to imprison us.It is a portrayal of our very worth is at stake.
The problem with this mind set of ego values driven , our obsessiveness about owning more , more , and much more would allowed our false self to dominant force in our life. We could get lost in prestige, power and obsession. As the time progress, the false self defines us, it means we are defined by false true. Then it is coming to a train derailed---a spiritually bankrupt way to run our life journey.
This is directing to a danger zone of listening to ego rather than our authentic self. How much material we accumulate, how much we have been accomplished,ultimately causes us to forget that our intuition value is our connection to our source of being, our spiritual self. Where , and whom are we came from ? The answer is this higher power being, is our source. Therefore, we are a spiritual human being, that need to connect to our spiritual cause.
By contrast, when our connection to our higher source, then we do not anxious about triumphs, money, stuff, accomplishment, status, our image, and false believes.we have more valuable commitment in being good, focusing on our self improvement, heading toward something is far more purposeful and meaningful is even more significant than the narcissistic, ego self-sabotage way of living.
We begin to shift change in direction away from an ego driven life to purpose driven life in God's purpose. By become more caring toward the suffering of others, more gratitude of what we have,we are motivated by moral, serenity, serving others, kind to everyone.Less judgmental , forgiveness to others, and to ourselves. A Godly life of peace, love, honesty, joy and do God's will.

The reversal of destiny

I used to live a life in agony, sorrow, crush, despair and felt like a wounded victim. Now life journey for me are different from the past, misery has given me a reconsideration approach, which is compelling---when life hurts, God heals.The beauty of by serving others,doing the magnificent mission that what I am doing now. Wow! this reversal is called chiastic structure. In its tightest form, chiastic structure is inverted parallelism, it is a reversal of structure from allowing circumstances, often crises in our lives to have the opportunity to choose the positive perspective. In all aspects of life, look at what we have been given that is valuable rather than at what of lesser value we are temporarily lost!We are looking unto Jesus, Him who endured the cross, despising the sham, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.By His grace I had gain wisdom and revelation. I am now not a victim, but a victor. Not what I have lost from the stock market punched, but what I have left.In every situation in our lives , everything , every person , people , place, and things are all temporary. if we try to hold on to it,we will feel so much loss, sorrow and emptiness. So I do not allow circumstances to direct my path, the undoing is nature with God, after all ,God has a way , a better destiny for me, living God's truth , and that surely will set me free.
"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I 'm gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light". In Mathew 11:28-30.

Compassion cured me of agnostic

The act of Love is to say,
"I want you to be who you are."
The act of abuse is to say,
"I want you to be who I want you to be".
It is that simple.


I grew up in a domestic violent family. Consistently, all the Physical, mental and psychological ,on the negative impact of the fears, trauma and the abused. It was the endless controlling , overpower, and intimidation through out my childhood. Each day I was hoping to be vanish into the air, and tried to make all the pain, sorrow and despair to disappear else where. Add on to the continuation warfare in VieT Nam, my child age was emotional developed into depression, low self-esteem, loosing trust, abandonment, guilt , shame, anger, hate, resentment, and cognitive abilities has a devastating impact as well.
Despite my shortcoming , trauma wounded child attitude, my spiritual journey began by God sent a guardian angel to look after me, and gave me comfort, love, and compassion. This grace from God was my high school classmate, she planted a small seed , an act on her compassion, toke a complete approach in God's love, forgiveness, hope, kindness, gentleness, the total package in the fruits of spirit. Wow! I was so blessed , because of her compassion, I could feel safe, I could feel hope, and I even found faith. Even today, God's blessing, still remain, she is living in the same country, same state,so close to me, and we are still connect to one another almost daily basis. This journey is flourishing, it connected me to God, our Lord, and gave me a sense of purpose driven live. What a blessing that is!
My amazing friend, a heartfelt precious friend, yesterday, today, tomorrow and always. Ju, you are a Gem , a testament to our Lord's glory, and I appreciated you in every awaking moment, what a beautiful gift of love, you have reflect His love, His promise, and His embrace. I thank you for not foresaking me. The application is clear,Ju, I pray for you and your family, may our Heavenly Father launches you ever so quickly into His most perfect,gracious, and awesome plan for your life. I can totally believe that He would like you to know that He is so pleased with you, and all that you do for His glory. Traffic camera

A man was driving through town when he saw the flash of a traffic camera. He figured that his picture had been taken for exceeding the limit even though he knew that he was not speeding. Just to be sure, he went around the block and passed the same spot, driving even more slowly, but again the camera flashed.

Glory of Easter

"For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that He was buried, and He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures."
- I Corinthians 15:3-4

What is the first thing that comes to mind when people think of Easter? Coloring eggs, Easter egg hunts, chocolate bunnies, dressing up for church, and family gatherings are the popular choices. I remember growing up with the same ideas and images about Easter. It wasn't until after becoming an adult and giving my heart and life to Jesus did I get the real story and the ultimate meaning of Jesus' resurrection from the dead.

So, as much of the world commercializes this special day or completely ignores the significance of what Christ accomplished, I wanted to take a moment for us to be reminded of the true symbols of the Easter Story. Join me for a moment or two as we see the difference between the world's view of these symbols and the awesome, eternal power they have in our lives through Jesus Christ.

1) THE CROSS- In the world that Jesus entered into over 2,000 years ago - a Roman-dominated world - the cross was a sign of punishment, shame, and guilt. There was nothing beautiful about the symbol that many wear today as jewelry or that fills almost every church around the world. The cross was the form of execution of criminals and was a gruesome form of death meant to be a deterrent to other possible rebels and a public humiliation of the criminal. Galatians 3:13 says, "Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, as it is written: 'Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.'" Yet, the very cross that Jesus bore and died upon was the place that the punishment and guilt were erased and our sins were forgiven. He hung not as a criminal, but as the Christ. He died not as a scoundrel, but as a Sacrifice and the Savior of the world. "For the message of the Cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to those who are being saved it is the power of God."- I Corinthians 1:18

2) The BLOOD- I don't think anybody likes blood. Some people become faint, some scream, some close their eyes at the first sight of it. Blood stains, and it can be gruesome. Jesus' blood was spilled and shed as He was beaten mercilessly, addressed mockingly, and nailed violently to the Cross. Blood truly represents loss. It was painfully excruciating and was downright ugly. Blood is a symbol of loss, but it is also a symbol of life as our bodies must have it to survive. It was His blood that opened the door for the forgiveness of sins and the flow of life to course through ours. "He Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by His wounds you have been healed."- I Peter 2:24

3) The STONE- There is no greater dead end than death. Make no mistake: Jesus knew He would die, and it is the very reason He came to the world. Jesus said with confidence inJohn 12:27-28, "Now My heart is troubled, and what shall I say? 'Father, save Me from this hour?' No, it was for this very reason I came to this hour. Father, glorify Your Name!" Death is difficult to digest and something that each of us will inevitably be confronted with (at least at a physical dimension). Death is sorrowful, as we see the lives that are impacted by the death of a loved one. There is also a finality to death that leaves people with too many questions, open wounds, and unfulfilled desires. But because of what Jesus did on that very first Easter, death does not have final say nor is it the final place for us. Jesus brought a victory over death and is alive forevermore, and because of that we too can live. "But Christ indeed has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep."- I Corinthians 15:20

So this Easter week take time to reflect on and rejoice in the price Christ paid, the work Christ completed, as He bore what the world views negatively, but what we have come to discover as both necessary and beautiful!

My love for my mom, and my love for my daughter ...are timeless, endless, and forever more to come.

While I was helping my daughter to prepare SAT , and college planning task, such was an exciting, yet distress period . This means that she is going to leave home to attending college sooner than I expected. So this year and and half ahead, my mission is to be her mentor, to influence her with my cord value, and my believe. (not that I haven't done that, it is just to emphasis my moral believe). Although raising a child, it should be provide the best to her/his welfare, and not about me. However,my concern is that if I do not inspire her with my thinking, my culture, ethic, and fundamental believe, during the time when my child needs my nurture, my love, my way of making decision, determination, that whatever answer she was longing for, and did I neglected to set a profound example ? If I had set a good blueprint for her future? . In the study knowing that Parent have a major influence directly to our kid's future.

The truth is that have I done enough of biding a loving, guiding, understanding, and accepting attitudes, and behaviors toward her?

As much as I would like her to have a spiritual, rewarding , meaningful and prosperous life. To live in a healthy, happy, responsibility and functional balance life. Despite how much I would like to protect her , to care for her; after all she is her own individual that master her own destiny, with God's grace.

Today, we are bombard with media, TV, reality show, radio, Internet, pop culture songs, these are feeding us to experiencing an epidemic of toxic emotions. It is far too easy to pop a pill or smoke marijuana or shooting Heroin than work on the emotions that shoot thought us in the battlefield of the mind. What about peer pressure, peer life, many voices that we have allowed to control us, to limit us. Have I as a parent helping her to shaped her destiny, or just have her circumstances shaping her?

My dilemma is should I spend more quality time in her study? her choice of career picking? her school location? her world including the friends she hangs out with, her activities, her thoughts by siting down slowly and be a good listener. Unplug my goals and dreams and totally focus on her.To do that, It sound so needy, and no life.

For one thing, it is easier to be my child's friend, no limitation, no boundaries, total cave in. May be that will have a good parting.

Another thought is do more together , spend more time to do something with her that she would like, be more creative? fun, inspiring , time for the heartfelt bond moment. It is the importance time, I need to care, to build , to allow my love to flow to her freely, in a completely unselfish, and absolute giving my very best, before I would send her away from home.

And here we are observing our Chinese New year this Sunday, going out for the Valentine's day also Sunday. When indeed, we are always going out just for the reason because it is Sunday.For all these many good reason, we as Chinese in America should be taken this long weekend with an attitude like celebrating in the carnival, eat, drink, laugh and be merry, friends , lovers,and family gathering. Winter Olympic

Feb,12,2010 the Olympic and Paralympic winter games are held in Vancouver, Canada , and the nearby ski-resort town of whistler.
Over 20 years ago I visited Canada, this Vancouver heavy Chinese immigrants and multi colorful ethnicity's add in so much passion , mix cultural charm and livable big city.I still remember the delicious Cantonese food, and the dynamo tavern that I enjoyed. Vancouver's majestic setting and laid-back, rich in British metropolis and combination of Hong Kong Chinese ethnic enclaves, such as combination of urban sophistication and a colorful mountain scenic for the outdoors . Many of my relatives are living there, perhaps in the near future I would plan for a second visit to this stunning urban, and metropolitan city .In the mean while, I can watch the game, and re-visit this dynamo BC on the big screen T.V, in my comfort living room and laid back setting. Not to mention all the front roll good viewing from the flat screen T.V.that will be capturing, Um um, good, I will be watching so closely, yet so far ...

Relief In crisis

The images of collapsed structures and rubble that have flooded the television and internet can be seen as a picture of society as a whole. Everyday there are broken dreams, the devastation of failed marriages, lives lost to disease and violence, foreclosures, loss of jobs, and much, much more. We as Followers of Jesus and as part of the Body of Christ must be ready to offer up immediate and true RELIEF to the ones shaking their heads, the ones asking questions, and the ones crying out for help.

Here are some things that I believe can be our charge when helping people in a state of crisis:

1) Don't focus on always ANSWERING why?-
The reality is that often there is no easy answer or no way of knowing with 100% certainty why some things happen. It will become maddening for you and for the person with the question to try and figure out the reason, cause, or to pin the blame on someone (even God). We want to focus people on the fact that there is HELP and HOPE available to them now.

2) Help in POINTING people to the Heart of God-
One of the things that I often say is, "Even when I can't comprehend the mind of God, I always can know the heart of God!" Keep sharing and reaffirming the reality that God's love, promise, care, and power is available to them. This isn't the time to make them feel bad about not reading their Bible, irregular church attendance, or poor decision making, rather it is a time to comfort, support, and encourage (Galatians 6:2).

3) Keep PRAYING for Open Doors-
God always makes the right move and always has the next move. So when tragedy strikes a nation like Haiti or your neighbor, we can pray for God to redeem the situation, for the message of the light of the Good News (Gospel) to penetrate the darkness, and for lives to turn to Jesus in their time of greatest pain and need.
As our eyes have recently been on the events that have unfolded in Haiti, let's allow our eyes to focus on the REBUILDING effort. Not simply the rebuilding of fallen structures or a nation's weakened economy, but the rebuilding of broken lives to a Healing Savior. "The Lord heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds."- Psalm 147:3

Sorry for the tragedy earthquake in Haiti ! My heart goes out to your loss and suffering, you lost so many, almost everything; but we are here for you, the whole world is right behind you, and you have the whole world, because we are the world, we are on this earth together. Help is on the way, and be still, we are praying , helping, lending hands in every corner of the earth for you, Haitian, you are not alone !

It may seem premature to think about now, but Haitians who survive the horrific earthquake will be at risk of developing post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). In Haiti such provety country has left in ruins, killed as many as 150,000 people. A country that is poor in so many things, now, this disaster occured, what a hardship to live on...
We are all devastated what happend , and with our concern heart, we try to rebuid your land, your dream, your family, ( the left behind )one by one. today is better than tomorrow, many charities, humanity efforts is soothing your pain , and relief efforts are respond in all directions to your greatest needs. May God comfort you in time like this, and He will bring you new hope, peace, and with all our care, that would help you rise above your trouble situation very soon~

I think this picture was taken when Uyen Phi first visited me in California. Before and after, over 3 decades later,

Age 3---she looks at herself and sees a Princess.

Age 10---she looks at herself and sees Cinderella.

Age 15---she looks at herself and sees ugly duckling.But challenge herself to be fabulous looking.

Age 20---She looks at herself and sees:too fat/too thin, not good looking enough, but decides she is going out anyway.

Age 30---She looks at herself and sees : too fat/not fit enough, but decides she doesn't have time to fix it, so she is going out anyway.

Age 40---she looks at herself and sees "clean, and decent" plus high ability, so she can goes out.

Age 50---she looks at herself and sees :" How she used to look when she was young ,with that irrational self talk in mind, OK!", therefore she goes wherever she wants to go.

Age 60---she reminds herself of many others can not even face themselves in the mirror anymore. So she decides goes out and conquers the world.

Age 70---she looks at herself and sees wisdom, laughter and still has upbeat energy, so she goes out and enjoys the rest of the days.

Age 80---Doesn't bother to look. Just puts on a hat with a colorful scarf, so she goes out to have fun with a big smile on her face.

Milestones

A person's level of productivity should not be a measurement system of a self worth.Whom may not do much to be popular, and is not best well known to many, but such individual could impact one person at a time dramatically. My dad's influence, and my witnessing of heroic , samaritan individuals selflessness act has prove my theory.

My father used to tell me that " It is not how much you do in your life, or how successful you are accomplished; but it is how great of a human being you are become, to connect and make a different to others." This legacy has imprinted to me into my whole entire life. Now I believe the type of a fine quality of a person I would become , rather than levels of productivity, such of quantity of just doing. , hiting by the number score ,packing in projects, multitask , in order to determine a person's worth. It is the quality not the quantity !After all who is counting anyway?

An act in the right time,even by giving voice to shape the toxic situation. Willingly to be able to stand up for the right cause. And strike to be a good citizen, a good human being , yes, a hero of the highest order, at all cause, at all time make a diligent decision to save the lives of the victims, the helpless one. Whom will make a conscious decision, in placing the safety of others above their own.

Once in a Blue moon

Have you notice the full blue moon up the sky lately?
The term "blue moon" now refers to the second full moon in a month, but folklorists say the phrase has a long and rich history. Not only will a full moon light up the festive evening, which happened right on New year's eve, but a so-called blue moon will help ring in 2010 for revelers in the Western hemisphere.

You may see the "blue moon," but you won't see the moon awash in the color blue.

Look ahead

Start the year 2010 with an attitude of optimism! in spite of we have been through a hard 10 years. The worst ever, compare to the past century. The great depression of the' 30s the second world war. The fact that we had suffe- ed the age of international terrorism, historic global economic meltdown. By learning from the past, we are moving forward to turn the new page, as we are start of a new decade, in a clean sheet. The first step is to take personal accountable in being a good stewardship to our own finance, being our own responsibility in spending, saving, planning our future prudently.. Work with a cheerful heart, maintain our equilibrium, have peace with in ourselves. Everyone give a helping hand to the needy. May the Lord refresh us to the new future, with unexpected possibilities that you have put in each new day. I have within me the capacity to be jewel , a salt and a light to whom struggling around me. So help me, God. Amen.

The most influential people we loss in this last decade

Sadly we loss President Ronald Reagan, President Gerald Ford, Pop john Paul ii , Teddy Kennedy ect....

Favorite entertainers Johnny Cash, even now I still can not believe Michael Jackson is gone. . It is part of life, they are part of History, in being a a peace maker, and icon, an Holy God's messenger, and a revolutionary. Their lives journeys had turn into legends.

My question to myself is in this last decade, what have I done in making a different to others? As for this new decade , my resolution is--- let the best is yet to come, embrace the decade with faith in the Lord, and seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, love God passionately and live my life according to Him.

A decade of a life time

Year of 2001 to 2110 in The United States, start with 9/11 terror's attack, rally cause by you and me, the re-count Al gore's contested election,the Iraq war, stock market crash, than economic growth gradually and hence to raising living standards , real estates bubbles, stock market bubbles, energy oil bubbles, more bubbles blown and burst. Yet for all that trouble, with ripples effect , than financial institution tank, credit card delinquent crunch, cause many banks vanish, auto industry like General motors sinking . It has no escape the financial melt down causing more unemployment hit to double digits. As a deflation economy tumbling, than burst the greedy Ponzi scheme, value of U.S. dollar falling. With Obama leadership, now we are fighting 3 wars at the same time, the unfinished Iraqi war, then the Afghanistan war in Pakistan, combat Taliban, al-Qaeda forces? Never neglect the terror war in our nation. The uncertainty has left economy getting sicker and deflation into worst shape,it lead to great hysterical fears of the coming decade.

Thanks to the suicide shoe boomer ,than to the under wear suicide boomer Mr. Ulmar Abdulmutallab, even we can luckily preventing from explode by heroic acts of passengers and crew member; what his attempt has create us so much anxieties, fear and worry. It is an indication that international terrorism is actively try to harm us, at least building us with so much panics of the 2010 to come.

The drug war in Mexico,United broader,Pirate attached, nature disaster such as: the many earthquakes, floods caused hillside collapse, fires, swine flu, H1 N1 flu, global warning, etc.....

However in these myths of all happening, God is being faithful every step of the way.What is impossible with men is possible with God.
